What MedicoSphere is
MedicoSphere is a discussion community for physicians and medical students. You present a case, ask a question, or share something you worked out — and people who have seen it before reply.
Every account is labelled physician or student, and that label appears on every post and reply. It is there so you can weigh what you are reading, not to rank people. A fourth-year asking a basic question well is the point of the place.
It is deliberately small in scope. There are rooms for specialties, posts, replies, likes and saves. There is no algorithmic feed, no karma score, and nothing that rewards posting volume over posting usefully.
Community norms
- De-identify every case. No names, no dates of birth, no record numbers, no images that could identify a person. If the detail is not clinically necessary, leave it out.
- Cite when you claim. A guideline, trial or paper beats a recollection. Saying "I think, but I have not checked" is completely fine — pretending otherwise is not.
- Students ask freely. Answering a basic question well is more valuable here than demonstrating that you already knew it.
- Disagree with the reasoning, not the person. Most useful threads here are disagreements that stayed civil.
- This is not patient advice. Nothing posted here replaces the judgement of a treating clinician who has actually seen the patient.
Where it stands today
MedicoSphere currently has 1 member, 1 discussion, and 10 specialty rooms. Those are the real numbers, and they will stay real.
Some things are honestly not built yet. The physician badge is self-declared — licence verification is coming, and until it lands the badge means "this person said they are a physician", nothing stronger. The resource library and learning tracking are planned but not live. There is no email notification yet.
